Kassie K. a singer/songwriter/musician from beautiful Vancouver, BC, Canada – a place where you can go from beaches to snow-covered mountains, majestic parks to a luxurious urban lifestyle all without ever leaving the city! The same can be said about this beautiful artist and her amazing vocal skills, talent and creative aptitudes that allow her to effortlessly jump from one genre of music to another. Her vast variability as well as her exceptional lyrical talent continues to attract fans from across the globe.

Kassie started singing at the age of 5 and with the support of her parents, began taking singing lessons and performing at local festivals, events and showcases. By the time she was 11 years old, Kassie was already writing and recording her own songs. As she grew older, she desperately wanted to add music to the melodies and by the time she was 16, had self taught herself basic chord progressions on her first guitar, a red Godin Detour.

Fronting her first band in high school, and later becoming the lead singer of the band Bell Tower Dreams, a four-piece pop/rock band out of Vancouver, Kassie continued to thrive not only as a songwriter, but also as a performer. The band played venues across BC, gaining local popularity as well as winning band of the month in 2009 for 99.3 CFox, a prominent local radio station, earning a publicized headlining showcase and radio play. Bell Tower Dreams eventually separated due to musical differences.

During her time with the band, Kassie always felt something was missing. She decided to go back to her musical roots as a pop artist, and has never looked back.

After high school, Kassie attended Kwantlen Polytechnic University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and moved on to work as a support worker both in transitional housing for women fleeing abuse, and in a residential youth shelter for at risk youth. Although Kassie continues to advocate for social justice, her passion for health and fitness steered her towards a new direction.

After taking a step back from competitive athletics to commit to her University studies, it did not take long for Kassie to miss the physical and mental challenges of sports. In turn, this led Kassie to join a local gym and take up a new hobby: weight training. From here, her passion for fitness grew as she entered her first bodybuilding show as a bikini athlete. Years later, Kassie has worked her way up from a novice to a national level sponsored athlete. Kassie continues to motivate and inspire other people looking to better their health and fitness while also working as a certified personal trainer and health coach.

Kassie states that this change has been amazing for not only is she able to help people in a meaningful way but it has also allowed her the freedom to spend more time working on her music.

Kassie: I do not think there was ever one experience that led me to where I am, but just a collection of memorable moments. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved singing and performing in front of an audience. Whether it was 5 people at a family dinner, 400 at a school assembly, or 8,000 at a hockey arena singing the national anthem. Nothing has ever made me happier than music.

If there is anything I have learned over the years, it is that life is a privilege. Many people live day to day, without reason, without aspiration, or without fulfillment. It is heartbreaking because life is so much better when you let go of the doubts and fears and just do what makes you happy. For me, music is what makes me happy. I do not think I could ever give up chasing music because it is the one constant I have had my entire life.

In between writing original content, Kassie keeps busy recording covers on her Instagram, YouTube and Facebook channel: collectively earning over 12 million views.

Some of Kassie K.’s achievements were creating her own parody renditions of (Mariah Carey’s) “All I Want for Christmas is You” and (Meghan Trainor’s) “All About That Bass”. Kassie states she originally came up with the idea while jokingly combining her love of music, fitness and comedy. Ultimately, this combination would create her first fitness Parody “All About Those Gains”, which instantly went viral and prompted her to release a second Parody, “All I Want for Christmas, is Gains” the following year. Both in turn have “Gained” her worldwide attention with notable features by: ESPN, People Magazine, CBC and Kiss Radio

Kassie is currently finishing up her first EP, which is set to release this year.
